Hard to Swallow was a drastic change of pace for Vanilla Ice as he embarked on a new period in his career and his life.  He referred to his rough edges and hard core sounds on the album as "therapy" and gave the world a "take-it-or-leave-it" album. The album features "Too Cold" a Korn-like remake of Vanilla Ice's smash hit "Ice, Ice, Baby."
