G'Day
Mate!!! The Great Down-Under, Australia, was off the chain! We went over to
have some fun with this campaign for Virgin Mobil, about Right Music Wrongs.
It was all for a laugh and to say that music should not be about the image
or the gimmicks, and to see if the music can stand the test of time, and boy
did it! There were over 700,000 people who responded and voted for the
music - 97%, so that means that ICE ICE BABY stood the test of time. The day
before the voting, I hosted and performed on the MTV MUSIC AWARDS.
Pete Wince (Fall Out Boy) and I did a duet and we turned it out BIG TIME!
The crowd was so excited that it was hard to hear the music. Pete was
super nice and did a great job as well. I also was hanging out with Robbie
Madison (Pro Freestyle MotoCrosser) one of my heros. As you know I
love Motocross and Robbie just jumped in Vegas and holds the longest jump in
the world at 318 feet. He was like some of my friends I have here in
America; funny and jackass all the way! The next day we got the news on the
vote, we put on a performance at the Virgin Music Festival in Sydney, and
was amazed to see 60,000 people. It was the biggest show I have played
in over 10 years! As far as I could see, there was people. We
had such a great response that they asked us to stay and play the rest of
the Virgin Music Festival. I was happy to stay, but I had no band, my
band had to leave, so with the help of Ale, Rob Lowe, Stan, DJ Samurai,
Virgin Mobil CEO Pete, and promoter for V Fest Dave, they helped me have
rehearsals and put a great band together. Everyone kicked in; even the
Crazy Clown mad it out. Melbourne was Awesome! I was shocked to see so
many fans there. We all had such a great time, it was magical, the
crew was rockin' out, and I looked over and saw other bands there enjoying
the performance. There was Duffy, The Killers, Keizer Chiefs, and
20,000; truly a great time, with great people! Australia is beautiful
and I have made a lot of friends there, I look forward to going back...

Vanilla Ice Blog - A LETTER FROM THE ICE MAN |

WOW! I am blown away at how great the Historical show in Salt Lake City
went. I think it was the best show we have ever played. I was
skeptical at first because of the unknown and because of my personal
problems with the past. I just remember the words Tammy Faye said, "WE
ARE WHO WE ARE , BECAUSE OF WHO WE WHERE!" and I used that to get over it
and face my adversities. This was a true test and she could not have
been more right. It finally happened; I can now embrace the past and
enjoy it all. I think with out the humility from the past I would not
be the person I am today and I am finally truly happy. I owe a ton of people
for this who have supported me through the dark days and stood beside me
through the trenches. I could not have done this without them.
They are all my friends for life. I now know the true meaning of
loyalty thanks to them. They are family.
Hammer
and I had a nice talk backstage. He was supper nice and cool and I now
have new respect for him. We talked about the past and where we were
at today and we where both curious how this would be. He said he knew
that I had been doing the rock thing and riding motocross, we talked about
family and friends, it was awesome. And he asked if it was alright if he
came out on stage after ICE ICE BABY, I was like, "Hell yeah!" The crowd was
so loud at times I couldn't hear the music, and all I could think about was
how we set the world on fire 18 years before and here we are doing it again
now. WOW! Just writing this right now I am getting emotional.
Even if nothing else comes from this, this was the most MAGICAL EVENT EVER!
However, we did talk about doing a WORLD TOUR, and he said he was all in
100%. I think the world need's it. There has been nothing hit on the
impact level of what we did 18 years ago. Hell between the two of us we sold
more records than any musician in the world including Michael Jackson,
Elvis, the Beatles and Madonna. I got that from DJ Scribble from MTV.
He called me after the show to tell me how great he thinks this is and I
asked him that if something does happen from this I would like him to be a
part of it. He said he would love to be a part of it, so how about a
Scribble, Hammer, ICE, WORLD TOUR? THE " ICE FEST"?
W00000000000W! So this is what it feels like to be on cloud 9.

Vanilla Ice Blog - NEW ALBUM! |

Well
I have NOT been keeping this one secret because it happened so fast that
there wasn't enough time to even tell anyone. I didn't have much
information on the release date because it came together so fast.
Everyone knew before me, ha ha ha! Anyway here it is, and to be honest
I haven't even heard it yet, unlike all my other records I didn't mix this
one, it was mixed by Cleopatra Records, so I hope it's good because I didn't
have any creative control on this because it is simply a remix/remake record
of some killer hip hop and reggae MEGA HITS . I did have control of choosing
most of the songs so it was fun getting to relive those MEMORIES in my life.
GOOD TIMES!!!
ENJOY !!!

I am on a Spring break tour right now, just coming back from
California. All is going great, the shows are packed and crazy fun, I just get
no sleep, except on the airplane. For those who think it's all fun and games, I
got news for you, there is hard work involved, but it does lead to a ton of fun.
If it wasn't for Starbucks I would be walking through the airport with one eye
open and my boxers, Ha Ha Ha!
Well here is the news. I am working on a new album in between concerts, I have
three songs done so far, and they are sik! It's just taking longer because I am
so bizzy with other shit and I have to be in the mood, but it is coming. I am
working with ICP, as well as others who I will announce soon. There are a few
reality show deals on the table. I will let you know what and when, so
stay tuned . Halla Halla Halla !!!
